True Elsewhere

True Elsewhere is an online gallery devoted to a single collection: 19 figurative paintings that, together, tell a novel.

The novel is called Miramare, August 1957. It takes place in an imaginary grand hotel in Sanremo, on the Italian Riviera, over one summer. Each painting is a chapter: a scene from life, a place, a memory — the quay, the café, the Fiat, the cinema.

Generative starting point, pigment print on canvas, 150 × 120 cm. Each canvas will then be painted by hand: acrylic and oil, brush and palette knife. The collection is in progress.
